Music: PILOTPRIEST - SLASHER

Anyone who knows this site, knows that we love our synth music. So today we wanted to share a new musical treat with you all. It comes in the form of the track from the artist known as Pilotpriest and it is entitled "Slasher"

There is a cool little story about Pilotpriest and my discovery of his music. Pilotpriest's real name is Anthony Scott Card, and he is the mastermind behind one of my favorite films I have seen this year. That film is the short segment "Father's Day" starring Jocelin Donahue, and it is featured in the recent horror anthology Holidays. After watching this film I did some research into it and after seeing a tweet from Jocelin, I put two and two together and realized the director was also a musician. I sampled a couple tracks on his bandcamp page and decided to buy two albums, his newest "Trans" and his previous effort "W/W/D/K/F" both of which are full of excellent tracks. There is a TON of synth and electronic music out there, much of it can be a bit “soulless” and repetitive to say the least, but your tracks all really have quite a bit of shall we say, heart? to them. Similar to the way Father’s Day builds to its climax, much of the music on the album does the same. Each track really builds to something special, adding layers and new sounds as each one progresses. I have been listening to those albums non-stop ever since I bought them and they have served as awesome soundtracks for great times as well as inspiration during creative sessions. I cannot recommend them or his film "Father's Day" enough. Now he is back with a new single, and as mentioned above it is called Slasher and it is perfect to throw on your upcoming October playlists. Check it out below and keep an eye on any future projects from Anthony Scott Card/Pilotpriest as he is a truly talented artist.
